Environmentally Conscious Practices:

1

Recycling/Repurposing

All of my personal designs incorporate and prioritize the usage of repurposed materials. I have been fortunate enough to inherit a plethora of materials such as yarn and fabric from family and friends. Damaged or stained clothes from my wardrobe or the thrift store are also important contributors to my art. My goal is to prevent even unwanted items from ending up in landfills

2

Textile Waste Management

All fabric, yarn, or thread scraps that I create during my artistic process are saved instead of thrown into the trash. These scraps will eventually either be down cycled to serve as stuffing for future projects, or up cycled to create full garments from said trimmings.

3

Minimal Waste Production

I try my best to make as little cuts in my materials as possible in an effort to cut down on waste. The best example of this is the brown mesh tunic from my SS/23 collection that I created by only making one cut in the fabric. I will continue to incorporate zero to minimal waste design methods into my garments and research new ways to prevent waste from the beginning.
